Wanted: An Equine Nutritionist passionate about helping horse owners feed their animals well who can work with proprietary cutting-edge nutrition technology to create consistent quality products and has commercial experience working for a feed company or feed supplier. This person will help lead the direction for future equine products through research and development while supporting sales reps and feed dealers.
This position can be home-based
for candidates living east of the Mississippi who are able to travel 30-35%.

You will apply your expertise to further develop the product line, helping horse owners by providing products that help their horses perform better and live healthier.
You will be directly responsible for this product line and the primary source of technical information for equine nutrition and feeding. You will attend most major conferences and be state-of-the-art with your knowledge.
This position works at the corporate level and in the field taking information back and forth.
You will provide dealers and horse owners with important technical information and provide corporate leadership with the ongoing needs of the horse community, identifying and reacting to industry trends.
You will be a leader in the horse community in a large region as public and industry speaking is involved in this role, speaking at industry events and regional horse events.
You will be a recognized authority in the field, participating at the highest levels.
The workload is diverse providing a variety of projects and people interaction.
Reasonable travel - some of your time will be spent in the field, talking with horse owners and retailers, either one-on-one or speaking engagements. You will solve problems in practical settings and build relationships with horse owners and dealers.

To be seriously considered for this role candidates must
Possess a PhD in equine nutrition or be a recognized leader in equine nutrition and a DVM degree
Live east of the Mississippi
Enjoy working with other nutritionists on R & D projects
Be able to travel 1-3 nights per week to support the brand
Be an exciting stand-up speaker
Have experience working for a feed manufacturer or feed supplier
Be able to support the sales force
Be passionate about helping horse owners feed their animals well
Function well within a fast-paced team
Have feed formulation skills, balancing rations using standard commercial programs
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to discuss technical information with experts and end-users.
Believe that products must be nutritious, marketable and profitable
Have a high level of professionalism, integrity and a track record of accomplishment
Be able to handle multiple projects with changing priorities
Create enthusiasm for products by sales reps, dealers, and the horse community
Relate to all aspects of the horse community from pleasure to competitive and professional riders
