Established feed ingredients company seeks a Sr. Poultry Nutritionist for nutritional support and research for a small division of a very large company.  This nutritionist will possess a PhD in poultry nutrition have 5+ years experience providing technical support to a sales team supporting the layer industry.  The other major responsibility will be to drive innovation.

Qualifications for this position:  PhD in poultry nutrition and 5+ years tech support (industry work).  Candidates must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills with proven abilities in stand-up presentation. There is a similar available for candidates with a MS or DVM degree and/or lesser field experience.

Detailed Responsibilities 
  • Front end review & design of research trials for new and existing technology.
  • Speaking engagements and training of foreign teams with 1-2 trips abroad each year to influence our clients and prospects
  • Be the interface between company and the genetic companies to design collaborative nutrition research.
  • Write papers and presenting same at major technical and industry events.
  • Align the communication of company technologies and programs with real Layer industry issues.
  • Support the sales team by identifying customer needs and then communicating technical information that will assist the sales process.
  • Be the primary contact with key accounts and prospects to further develop business, managing their product and nutritional program needs.
  • Provide technical training to the sales team
  • Support customers by sharing your knowledge of the biology and husbandry of poultry. 
  • Actively participate in the success of the division in the areas of prioritizing prospects, identifying changes in customer needs, evaluating business opportunities, creating annual business plans and budget management.
  • Participate in sales presentations, creating presentation materials, recommending product positioning and related activities. Assist in developing customized products and feeding programs as situations arise and update feeding programs as needed.
  • Work closely with all parties involved in customer complaints and/or non-compliances. 
  • Ensure professional growth by attending industry conferences, seminars and professional organizations.
  • Support other functions within the company relating to credit, pricing, formulation, strategic goals and other confidential information.
