Will apply animal science principles and reproductive research methods (bio-statistics, histology, embryology) and technologies (AI, classification, vitrification, culture, hemi-transference, sexing, etc.) to improve herd reproductive efficiency. Will conduct epidemiological, biochemical and metabolic studies and perform data analysis to eliminate or reduce risk factors that can influence reproductive rates. Will analyze selection criteria, obtain data, and maintain record of genetic imprints in order to advise producers on selection and help create optimal performance mating programs. Will research, maintain records, and remain current on herd management and nutrition to advise producers regarding improved techniques and products designed to enhance breeding practices, genetic characteristics, and reproductive efficiency. Will conduct QC/QA/QI activities and help to develop and participate in research projects. Loc. Tulare.
Master’s degree (or equivalent) in animal genetics, animal or veterinary science, veterinary medicine, or related, and 2 years’ experience in bovine reproductive science or related required.
